CHIeru Nexus Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Atsutomo Shinada), a group company of CHIeru Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Mutsumi Kawai), a provider of ICT solutions for school education, announced that it will upgrade its LMS GLEXA for Academic in October 2026 with a new “AI Feedback” function. With this function, AI automatically provides feedback on reflections and summaries that students enter during class, supporting students’ self-directed learning and motivation in assignments that test expressive and summarizing skills, especially in foreign language classes.

Development Background
In classes that use an LMS, assignments in which students enter reflections, summaries, or opinion pieces are common, but replying to each submitted text with comments places a heavy burden on instructors. In foreign language classes in particular, individually correcting and responding to texts that students have written in a foreign language is not easy, and students often stop at submission without sufficient opportunities for reflection. In response to these concerns, we have enhanced GLEXA with automatic AI feedback that deepens students’ learning and also reduces instructors’ workload.
Key Functions
This update adds the following functions.
○ Automatic feedback by AI
Based on the assignment text and AI prompt set in advance by the instructor, AI automatically generates feedback on the reflections and summaries entered by students. For example, in a foreign language class, students can submit a two- to three-sentence reflection and receive a response from AI of about 100 words.
○ Prompt and limit settings by instructors
Along with the assignment text, instructors can freely customize the prompt sent to the AI, the maximum length of answers, the number of resubmissions allowed, and the number and maximum length of follow-up questions from the settings screen.

○ Follow-up questions to the AI by students
After receiving feedback from the AI, students can ask the AI follow-up questions about the feedback, up to the number of times set by the instructor. Through conversational exchanges, students can deepen their understanding.

○ AI scoring
Instructors can freely set evaluation criteria such as “Content” and “Grammar & Vocabulary” and specify the maximum score for each. Along with generating feedback, the AI automatically scores each student’s answer for each criterion and calculates a total score. Instructors can view scores by criterion in a list, add comments, and rescore. Instructors can choose for each assignment whether to make scoring results visible to students.

○ Bulk review of history and CSV/ZIP download
Instructors can view each student’s answers, AI feedback, and question history in a list and on individual detail screens. All records can also be downloaded in bulk, either as a single CSV file covering all students or as a ZIP file containing a history CSV for each student.
○ Mechanisms for safe use of AI
The system sends the instructor’s prompt and the student’s input text to the AI as clearly separated data, preventing students’ input from hijacking the instructions (prompt injection). It also records AI service usage in tokens and allows administrators to set and monitor a monthly usage limit for the entire system.

Future Upgrades
This upgrade is the first release of AI features in the GLEXA LMS. CHIeru Nexus gives top priority to creating an environment in which AI can be used effectively and safely in education, and will continue to develop and implement innovative functions that leverage AI technology. We will keep evolving GLEXA as a next-generation learning platform that drives digital transformation in education, reduces teachers’ workloads, and deepens each student’s learning.
