About Us

CHIeru traces its origins to Digital Institute Co., Ltd., established in Tokyo in 1997 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Obunsha Co., Ltd. In 2006, the company integrated the education business of Alps System Integration Co., Ltd. and was renamed CHIeru Co., Ltd.

Our services include educational software and systems, teaching and learning resources, and strategic consulting on school technology environments from K–12 through higher education.

We are an education technology company dedicated exclusively to schools. Working closely with teachers—our core customers—we continuously create and improve language teaching systems, network management systems, and digital learning resources that make everyday lessons easier and more effective.

We work hand-in-hand with teachers and partners to stay ahead of the changing needs of education, designing ICT environments that support every aspect of the modern, technology-enhanced classroom.

Our company name, “CHIeru,” combines the Japanese words “知” (chi, meaning knowledge) and “得る” (eru, meaning to gain). It reflects our belief that children need to gain knowledge to build their future—and our mission is to support schools and teachers in helping them do so.
